So the appliqué class was canceled :( Not enough participants, sad enough. Got to be more active on the marketing bit myself next time! Well, after all October had started yesterday and as I needed some comfort I declared Christmas crafting season officially opened (please come back in late November if this upsets you :) and dragged out the retro table cloths I bought on sale from a thrift store right after Christmas last year. I'm quite proud of myself for being so farsighted. So these are now cut up to a nice pile of tomte dresses. There will be some serious tomte stuffing going on in front of our TV the coming weeks. But before that I have some quilts to bind.
Earlier this week I was working in a more princess-like colour scheme.
I was planning a custom order for my friend Camilla, who also happens to be a great designer. Look at that pink bird bag she is carrying, I really need one of those, it is made from oilcloth, perfect for a mum!
So the fabrics were to become Christening gifts in the shape of two
sweet cushions for a little girl. I hope the gift will be appreciated!
Adorable and very very sweet.

I'm sorry to hear your class was canceled. I hope you'll announce future classes here on the blog. I live in southern Finland, am just learning to applique, and would love some guidance (in Finnish or English:), so I'll cross my fingers for future learning opportunities! :)

How cute cushions; I'm sure the gifts will be appreciated! Sorry that your class got cancelled.
The tomte tablecloths look like the ones I inherited from my much beloved grandma. One of them is used every year under the Christmas tree, and I keep thinking I should overdye and quilt it, but it always gets to late. Your post had inspired me to do it - now. Thanks:-)

do the local people not realise how lucky they are having you teaching a class? It's a shame you can't do one with all of us, I know I'd be there if you were in my local town!
The cushions are wonderful - great gifts!

That's a pity the class was canceled. I would certainly like to take part if you would give it in Turku. You have a lot to teach I hope you don't give up the idea.
