I showed you a sneak-peek in my last post and now they are ready! It's been some time since I had time to create something new so I really enjoyed making these and they turned out quite like I had imagined, which does not happen very often. I actually like the element of surprise in the creative process! I used black linen and cotton batting for the quilts, they got a little bath yesterday to make the batting shrink a bit and make the quilting pop out.
Can you see the quilting here? I used the three theme words, Live, Love, Laugh and added a heart here and there ♥♥♥
And cross-stitch! I have a little tip for you there. If you like your cross-stitches to look bright red, choose an embroidery floss that is orange! For some reason the floss always looks darker when you start stitching.
These quilts will move into my Etsy shop today. I will make a little product line in the same spirit for a smaller budget during the coming weeks. It feels like just the right thing to do to sew violets and dandelions in the middle of the snow and the cold! Now I'm off to pick up my daughter at school with my new companion, a blue plastic sledge...
Find more picture of the quilt over at flickr!
They are really great - they really do have a Scandinavian/Nordic folk feel!

Thank you Kirsty! I wish I could help you, but I too am looking for a good (and cheap, it can sometimes be very expensive) linen supplier! I think I will have to travel over the sea to Estonia, Ive heard you can get it there. They had nice linen at Ikea a year ago and I have regretted a million times that I didnt buy a whole bolt back then!!

These are so very lovely, Kajsa - a most welcome splash of spring!
Do you buy your linen locally, or do you use an online supplier/particular brand? It's something I really struggle to find here in the UK and your linen backgrounds are always so gorgeous.

De är jättefina! Jag kunde tänka mig att ha något liknande på en kjol - kanske vore det en idé att sälja ett (annat) mönster på Etsy om någon själv har lust att brodera och syr applikationer?
