I am very excited to show you the first pictures of the KimaraCRAFTS pop-up shop! Me and 4 other textile artists/crafters have joined forces and created a lovely little shop inside a shipping cointainer at Hernesaari, a harbour area in Helsinki with rough contrasts where concrete meets the beautiful open sea. These pictures were taken by Tuija of Tuuni. For opening hours and such, please visit our Facebook event page!
If you are in Helsinki during the month of August, do come and see us! I would love to meet you! Grand opening on Wednesday from 12 a.m. to 8 p.m. Welcome!

Oh no! I just read your post. I love your blog and was in Helsinki for the first time on the very day you opened and missed it! Your shop looks like it was lovely.

I would love to pop in to your pop up shop but the commute is a bit hard from New Zealand. It all looks wonderful. Best wishes to you and your fellow textile artists.

I would give anything to be able to cruise into your little shop and not only meet you, but buy some of your amazing items. I've been following your blog for a while now, have your wonderful book, and love everything you do. Good luck with your seaside shop!

How lovely! Oh, if only Helsinki wasn't so far away! I just swoon at the idea of this container shop by the water. I'm surrounded by prairie grasslands - I'd have to drive for 12 hours before seeing large amounts of water. You and your pioneer friends are so inspirational.

Thank you! We rent the container from the city of Helsinki, the cointainers form an alley-way with small shops. We have been promised the possibility to continue in September if business is good. The area is pretty unknown to the public yet and we are like pioneers so we have know idea how it will work out :) In October it will be too cold, damp and dark, but we might be back next Summer! xKajsa

I WISH I was in Helsinki in August! This is just so cool! Does the owner of the container let you rent it for the month, then new people take over? I love how you've decorated it and hope that it is a great success.

What a brilliant idea to use a shipping container! And it looks so inviting with all the wonderful things inside of it.
Your work always stands out in such a positive and beautiful way.
If only I were in Helsinki... :)))
