Finally, time to create something new! I have been needing a new handbag for awhile now, I wasn't totally satisfied with my previous design so I came up with this!
I got rid of the zipper, been sewing so many zippers during the last years so I was determined to do without this time!
I used steady linen canvas for the bag and the dotted lining comes from an old shirt, a flea market find. It has room for my keys, my mobile phone and my wallet.
And quite a long, thin shoulder strap, just how I like it!
Now I will take it for a ride on my bike and try it out and if I still like it after that I will make more for the shop, which I will reopen later this week! The pictures are a tad bit grey, I know, it's raining, Autumn is on its way...
love your bag...^^

Oh Kajsa! It's fabulous! I need to make myself a new bag too! Can you believe I'm still carrying around the house bag you made... all holey and patched now! Love your profile photo! Your hair looks so long! It was the first day of the new school year and I did some sewing while Claire was away!!! Big Hugs, L

Hey Kajsa, your new bag is absolutely fabulous.
The colours of the leaves are so striking and the bird well............I imagine it's a Magpie and it's just lovely. So very you.
I'm sure they'll be very popular and will fly out of your shop,

Yum! I think that is my favourite bag you have ever made! The curve of the flap, highlighted with the leaves is so pretty. Hope it works well on the bike! We've been cycling a lot lately to fetch groceries - I might need to make a lovely bike bag too :-)

That is so gorgeous and whimsical! I love the string of leaves, it's such a joyous addition and contrasts in such a beautiful way with the fabric. The cute round button is also a great touch!

Thank you so much! You know what Ulla? You should be touched by the preface of my book, because its the truth that I would never have written it without you and the support of other wonderful people I have met via this place! I am a softy too, my eyes get teary at least once a day from the most trivial things... Like when I read you comment :)
Im glad you like the bag, and that you know how a bag should be worn properly ;) Do let me know if you have any ideas for motifs for the coming bags! I cant wait to make some in black too, my friend found some black twill for me that I am eager to start cutting in! xoKajsa

Just the way a bag should look like - and even better with the birds and leaves on.
I adore everything about it, and I feel the exact same way as you about the shoulder strap. It needs to be long enough to be worn across.
It's wonderful for you that your fine book has been published in your own language. You must all be so proud of that book.
I love to read in it over and over - I always seem to discover some new details every time I look in it. :)) And whenever I read the preface you wrote in the beginning of the book, I always get so touched, that the letters start to look blurred! I'm such a softy...
I haven't yet had them courage to make something from the book yet, but I will get there for sure. ;))
Have a lovely autumn day - here in Denmark it's windy and rainy too.
