We have been looking for a corner cabinet for our hallway and when I saw this I thought: Maybe this is the one! I did get a little discouraged when I discovered it was made partly from chipboard. Luckily I had my friend with me who encouraged me to take it. "You've got to see the pretty in the ugly", she said, so I decided to ignore the chipboard and the 1970's greenish-brown colour and turn it into something beautiful!
I didn't bring a tape measure, but it fit it's spot perfectly, yay!
I picked the colour (337X) from Tikkurila's colour chart with traditional colours. What do you think? I think the colour makes the cupboard look much older than it really is! And what did it all cost? I paid 35€ for the cabinet and 29€ for the colour, that is 64€ (85 USD) for a 'new' corner cabinet! My next project is a kitchen cupboard.
Wow! It looks great! :)

Hallo, I think it's perfect. I love buying second hand pieces, too and this hue of paint looks really like an old colour.
Many hugs

It looks great. I have a similar corner cupboard my brother made when he was at trade school. The timber is a yellowy brown colour and I would love to paint over it, but I'm worried I will ruin it if I do. Yours has turned out beautifully, so maybe I should give it a go?

I told you already on Facebook that I just love the colour, Kajsa!
We are renovating the kitchen in our new home (an old farmhouse from 1850) and found 1940's kitchen cupboards in the barn which will replace the current ones, both to save money, but also to add more charme.
It was hard to convince F to use that kind of minty-greyish-green, he thought it was too 'lantlig' and feminine. He changed his mind immediately though when I told him that the colour wasn't minty-greyish-green at all but a sort of Brüel & Kjær green (Brüel & Kjær manufacture sound and vibration measures/ equipments, F is a sound engineer).
Always have an ace up your sleeve when you renovate and want to convince your husband, he he ;-)

Chipboard is cheap and easy to paint. I added old wide molding to the top of two bookcases and painted white they look like custom built ins.
