I often come back to Spring in my work. I think the older I get the more I realise that Spring is my absolute favourite season. Every morning I check my garden for early green guests, I enjoy the birdsong, the soft earth under my feet and the smell of dust and damp. Yesterday I found myself smiling stupidly at a mother with two small children having their first icecreams outside for the year.
As much as I love Spring I hate the dark season. This year we didn't get much snow, which made it even harder to cope with. The best thing with the dark months is that you get so amazingly happy at heart when Spring and light finally arrives! The Spring will come quilt expresses my emotions quite well, I think. I made it three years ago (!) for the book We love color from Stasbooks (the picture of the quilt was taken at my publisher's studio). I blogged about it here. Now, with this new Spring arriving I have decided I am ready to part with it and have listed it in my Etsy shop. I hope it will bring Spring joy into someone else's home!
To celebrate Spring I have also reordered some tree prints. I stitched the tree for my first postcard collection in 2008. Time flies!
Happy Spring Day everyone!
Your quilt is colorful and lovely!!! Simple design, crisp and clean...
