We have been working a lot with patches lately! Well, you know I always do, but together with my trainee Nadja we have made a bunch of peek a boo baby quilts during the last month. We only used what I had on my shelves, a mix of new and fleamarket fabrics. It was a creative challenge to find the right fabrics for each quilt, when I had decided not to order any new fabrics for the quilts, but a very fun challenge it was, and I did have enough to choose from and my shelves are not empty yet... Here is one of our favourite quilts, a very springy one that is now available in my shop!

For the backing I found a really nice baby blue gingham sheet.

This is where I am spending my time right now! Me and my friend Mia have a little Pop-up Christmas shop with lots of lovely crafts in this charming old building here in Ekenäs/Tammisaari. We have gathered a nice collection of craft products from local crafters and designer friends. I am very happy that we can offer a sustainable alternative to Christmas shoppers. I try to buy as many of my Christmas presents from crafters, small design labels or local businesses.

This never ending winter is really getting on my nerves! It's April and we still have heaps of snow! I want to work in my garden! To cheer ourselves and our customers up we decided to bring Spring to our studio shop. The Spring sun is shining, after all, even if this snow melting business seems to take for ever this year!
This is the shop as seen from my studio (which will have a major clean-up tomorrow). The clothing and the fabric painting is from Saaga, the bag from Tuuni.
I am loving the light that fills our rooms! I am also very fond of this particular shade of pink. Of course I had to have this dress with one of my favourite plants, Echinacea. I am trying to grow some for my garden. No sign of sprouts in my pots yet though, but the bag said it could take 21 days, so I am trying to be patient!
My new postcards for Spring and Summer are here! Looking at them makes me long for Summer even more, I guess patience isn't one of my virtues!The cards are available in my Etsy shop, of course!

Last Thursday we built a pop-up shop at Korjaamo in Helsinki with the Kimara girls. It always a joy to work together with Minna, Susanna and Tuija!
It was difficult to get good pictures, but here are some glimpses of our shop!

If you are fans of Syko on Facebook this might be yesterday's news for you! But I have just finished 92 zippy pouches with animal appliqué and I just feel like telling the world about it! It might be my record so far. The first thing I ever sold on Etsy was a piggy pouch on October 19, 2006 (I had to check that), that's 6 years ago! No wonder I have been cursing these (I can say that today, it's Halloween, right?) every once in a while and thought that I will never ever again sew a kitten in my life. But then people ask so nicely and I have some new fabrics that just seem perfect for a pouch with a Royal Moroccan cat... And I can feel the pouchy inspiration coming and here I am stitching up the whole zoo again!

I have been making these for years now, but I still like the process, they are such personalities! This time around I think Sigur is my favourite!

I have been a little lost for words lately, or well, that is probably exaggerating, I always have LOADS to say about anything and everything :) I have been a bit overwhelmed about all the goodness that has happened irl lately so I have been avoiding this space a bit, I must admit. But I want to share it all with you! I'll start by showing some shots from our little shop Saagor & Sötsaker (sötsaker is Swedish for goodies, but also translates to cute things). Saagor (= sagas/stories) stands for the linen clothing from Saaga design that we sell in the shop.
Our cosy knits and felt neckalces are made by Annika Baarman-Sundblom. Quilt by me!
